Should I be screened for Oral Cancer?

Oral cancer is more common than leukemia, skin melanoma, Hodgkin's disease and cancers of the brain, liver, bone, thyroid, stomach, ovaries and cervix. It is typically caused by long-term use of tobacco and alcohol.

HOWEVER, 25% of all cases of oral cancer occur in people who have NEVER used tobacco! It is estimated that there will be 30,000 cases of oral cancer in the United States next year and only about half of those will survive.
